TBR jar
I rarely buy physical books blindly. Usually, I need to trust the author or get a really strong recommendation. When it comes to ebooks, I’m not nearly as strict. Sometimes I buy out of curiosity, sometimes I give in to hype, sometimes I want to support an indie author, and sometimes there’s a sale, so why not? That’s how I ended up with over 230 books on my Kindle... And on top of that, I pay for an audiobook subscription. Each year, I manage to read around 50–70 books. Typically, about half are recent releases, and the rest are audiobooks I pick spontaneously. Thanks to my TBR jar older books finally get their chance too - titles I bought on a whim years ago that got lost in the crowd. Every time I draw a book from the jar, I feel a little thrill. It’s silly, I know! I own all these books and could start reading any of them at any moment. But I love that element of surprise and delight. It's a bit like I got this book all over again.
