Meet the author!

Greetings from Poznań, Poland! My name Natalia Wawrzyńczak, and I'm the author of Tabula Smaragdina duology. My bookish journey began as an avid reader. In 2018, I decided to step onto the other side of the literary portal. Instead of merely reading, I chose to write my own book, crafting a beautiful and complex fairytale world for you to enjoy in the Tabula Smaragdina series.

Tabula Smaragdina: Dive into parallel dimensions where mythical creatures plot their schemes, an evil dragon has taken the throne, and magic pulses through every page. Laura, an ordinary human girl, finds herself in Pravia, a land teeming with wonder and danger. The first book, The Destiny Thief, sets the stage for her epic journey. In the sequel, The Archmage, Laura is torn between the human world and the world of magic. To defend those she loves, she will have to ally with an unlikely companion.

🖋️ Translation and Mentorship: I didn't just write my books. I also translated them into English with guidance from a retired English literature professor from Illinois College in Chicago. He was my mentor, creative writing advisor, and even my grammar and punctuation police!

I love stories about trolls, goblins and elves, based on Irish and Scandinavian folklore, and everything laced with mythology and ancient beliefs from different parts of the world.
